IMPA MEMBER EXCLUSIVE EVENT
IHM and ship recycling
the impact on supply chain management
Wednesday 16th December 09.00hrs – 10.30hrs CET
Join fellow IMPA members and share experiences, hear from the IMPA council on this subject as they discuss their assessment and explore the impact on the supply chain and ask invited IHM experts to comment on unanswered questions.
The EU Ship Recycling Regulation requires ship owners to create an inventory of hazardous materials (IHM) has led to confusion amongst members and the industry around exactly what is required and who is responsible and its likely impact on the supply chain.
Although many shipowners have already gained certification for their IHMs on their initial compliance through the class societies, there is a wider concern around ongoing IHM maintenance based on Suppliers Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) and Material Declarations (MD).
What the impact of “material compliance documentation” will be on the supply chain and day-to-day work is still uncertain for many. With several companies suggesting different approaches based on different interpretations an efficient fulfilment is not guaranteed. What is the expectation of the supplier within this domain presents another area of uncertainty?
In this webinar presented by IMPA for its members, the IMPA council will share their experiences, attitudes and approach to IHM alongside industry experts that will include representatives from class society RINA and leading IHM solutions provider GSR Services. Over the course of the webinar, IHM’s impact on the supply chain will be explored and questions asked that will help members, both owners and suppliers alike, to gain clarity on existing uncertainties and to plan their next steps properly.
IMPA members are invited to submit questions for this webinar via email directly to info@impa.net (these can be submitted with the request to remain anonymous).
